Harley (my Quaker Parakeet) is enjoying some head-scratches.

I can't imagine that only a year ago someone threw this little guy out. He was supposedly vicious and attacked his previous owner, hurting him quite badly. I took this guy in not exactly knowing that I was in for, but he bonded to me right away. Although he still won't let anyone other than me near him, I'm finding that when I make plans for the next thirty years of my life, Harley is always a part of them.

If I may say.. My quaker is exactly the same way. He won't let anyone near him except me... Granted thats on a day when he's not a grumpy old man. Mine was a rescue also. Keep doing a good job!

I use to have a quacker parret who did the same thing. this is so utterly adorable.

I have a congo african grey who is the same way about not letting anyone near him but me. I think it's a male bond thing... still cute though

African greys are incredible! I work with quite a few of them.

They say that the bonding is a hormonal response and should be avoided (by socializing the parrot with other people) but it's just impossible with my guy xD

Well same here... b/c my brother constantly torcures him. I've tried to keep my distance from the bird lately, but he will get off his cage to come look for me. In all technicality, it's my mom's bird so I'm trying to get him to go back to her XD

I adore Quakers. I use to have 2. Somehow they both disapeared out of the blue one day.

ahahha Itīs like my quaker parrot. He alow me to scratch im on his head and wings, and all his body, like an spa or a thing alike hahaha. But he atack all the ppl exept me.
