This is Petri, and he is an eight-year-old male whiteface.

After I had lost my Koko (the normal grey) I didn't know how to go on living. I loved that bird more than anything in the world and it crushed me to lose him.

I adopted Petri from a local bird shelter where I volunteer in hopes of making the healing process easier, and it worked marvellously.

I still miss my Koko and I think about him every moment of every day, but Petri's fluffy little mug is a great incentive to smile =)

is the name Petri usual in canada? :D I just think that it's very finnish name and wondered how come the bird has it? I too have a cockatiel called Roope.

I named him after the little dinosaur from The Land Before Time =) So I'm not exactly sure whether the name is unusual or not.

Sweet bird. I was just at a party, playing Guitar Hero, when the bird flew onto my shoulder while I was playing. It shuffled around whenever I strummed fast too, because it shook my shoulder slightly.

In sum: Birds are awesome pets.

Birds are awesome pets indeed! It's a shame that a lot of people don't know how to properly care for these beautiful, intelligent creatures.

Ahaha, my guys are big fans of guitar hero as well! They all start whistling along when we start playing.

You should record them whistling along to Dragonforce's Through the Fire and Flames, then record it and upload it on the internet to make the next big known video. I know I'd watch it multiple times. XD
